Fall Festivities at the Beach

As we say goodbye to summer, the air crisps up, the leaves start to change and the fall festivities begin. Autumn is jammed packed with activities for the entire family to enjoy. Make sure you add these to your fall bucket list!

GO APPLE PICKING

Visit Fifer Orchards, a local farm in Camden-Wyoming, DE, for the ultimate fall experience. Pick fresh apples right off the trees, get lost in the 6-acre “Master Maze” corn maze, and enjoy a farm tour. Don’t leave without getting a taste of their fresh apple cider or homemade apple cider donuts.

HIKE AROUND FOR FALL FOLIAGE

Delaware is surrounded by amazing trails. The best one to take advantage of changing of the leaves is Trap Pond State Park. Enjoy the vibrant colors of the trees from land or water. Hike around the pond’s edge on the Bob Trail or paddle on your kayak and take pleasure of the northern most bald-cypress trees.

ATTEND THE ANNUAL APPLE-SCRAPPLE FESTIVAL

Sussex County is known for two agricultural products: apples and scrapple. This annual festival is packed with fun activities, from a car show, carnival rides, trade show, live entertainment and delicious food vendors. Don’t leave without trying a sandwich made with Delaware’s more unique breakfast meat.

TRICK-OR-TREAT AT WHIMSICAL WOODS

Hosted by Lord’s Landscaping, presented by a handful of local businesses, this family friendly event is sure to get you in the Halloween spirit, with “Spooky Hollow” trail, collecting candy from your favorite character and explore that fantasy-filled forest. All proceeds go to Ball 4 All Foundation, a local charity supporting sports and fitness for the youth in the communities.

DRESS UP FOR THE PARADE DURING SEA-WITCH

One of Rehoboth’s most anticipated events of the year is a family-friendly festival running all weekend long. Whether you are interested in games, hayrides, live music, a 5K race, a parade featuring the Sea Witch herself and trick-or-treating there is truly something for everyone to enjoy!
